However...speaking of, are there steps we must focus on to properly begin this bracer business?

They'll give you a few tests at first, to make sure you're proficient enough at combat, and then you'll be allowed to start taking on missions. The more missions you succeed, the more your rank grows, and the higher-ranked bracers get to take the more dangerous missions.

So really, we just have to get you to the guild first. Until then, you get to try and convince me to give you a glowing recommendation.

Don't think about it like that. If you want to protect the people here, do it because you want to, not for any reason like repenting. The people you killed-- they understand. [ Mostly. ] And they forgave you, didn't they? You've got nothing to drag you back there now.

... They did, and they did understand. But even so, I feel... in the pursuit of "good", I forgot my own duty, or cast it aside.

In this place, with the duty of a bracer first and foremost... I believe I can make amends for that.
