[ A lot's happened-- if Hinako said that, she'd also burst out laughing at just how little that actually encompassed. Because is it ever really that simple? To her, the only simple thing about the situation was that if someone was in trouble, you helped them. You didn't raise your prices during a lockdown where people had no homes to return to. You didn't refuse to help people in danger because you hadn't received orders to leave your post and dreaded getting fired. It's just common human decency, and that's all there is to it.

Which is why, doing a quick sweep of the area to make sure that no more humans were being attacked after thwarting Keita's death clip--

Hinako is now sprinting at full sprint towards the blue-haired guy being surrounded by demons, whipping out her cellphone. So what if she isn't a part of JP's yet? ]

[ What the hell. What the hell?

This guy's shot himself in the head like, twice now, and he's still alive and kicking, not to mention he's yelling something she doesn't quite understand, and that demon is...

Not one she's ever seen, that's for sure. But she can worry about that later. As a couple demons go up in flames with twin shrieks, and she avoids that same fate, Hinako's making a quick dive for her phone.

One finger swipes the screen, right before she holds it out in front of her. The Hare of Inaba won't be much help in terms of offense, and Kikimora is also more of a healer, but...

Bilwis manifests from the phone with a cackle, lashing out at the demons as they prepare to charge again, with a series of hits that keeps them where they are. It's nowhere near as powerful as... whatever that demon was, but Hinako's not one to sit daintily and wait to be saved.

Especially when she was sure this person had been in trouble first. ]

You wanna dance? Let's dance!

[... Did she just summon demons from her cell phone? Minato wasn't expecting that at all; it throws him off of his game enough that he looks sincerely off-balance, mouth parting in slight shock--

And then he shakes himself, finishing jogging over to her side, standing back to back with her.]

... I'll watch your back, okay? Let's finish them off.

[They can talk about...all of this when they're safe.]

[ Damn straight they're going to talk about this. But he's helping out, and as far as Hinako's concerned, the more people to kick demons out of her city, the better. Osaka didn't deserve this. ]

You read my mind!

[ Bilwis goes for another strike before the other demons can recover, and this time, Hinako flicks one hand forward to direct a burst of flame out to assist. She'll choose to trust in this weird guy and his demon-summoning gun. ]

[It's time to kick some demon ass!!

Well, thankfully, they've already destroyed a lot of them. Minato flicks the Evoker to his temple again, facing the remaining demons on his side, and picks Odin this time instead of Surt--some well-placed lightning does a great job of frying demons that thought they could creep up on them.

(Minato's cheating and on ng+ already, apparently.)]

[ It does the trick, at least. The demons are vanquished, no one's hurt, and Hinako...

... continues to have about five hundred questions.

But not apparently before turning and holding up her hand for a high-five?? ]

I'm about to grill you like okonomiyaki, but good teamwork!

[Oh my god. That's such an evocative phrase...and also it makes his stomach growl. Minato covers up his stomach with a sheepish expression, and offers her a rueful smile.]

...I'm not going anywhere. You can ask me anything you want, but... I don't know if I'll have all the questions you want, because I'm pretty confused too.

[ That's promising, he's not instantly trying to bolt. Maybe as a reward for good behavior or just because Hinako is not a terrible person or an unobservant one, she rustles around in her folds of cloth and produces-- a small bag of jagariko. Takoyaki-flavored, of course. ]

Here. I'm Kujou Hinako-- and you are?

[ Let's start off there. ]

[Oh snap!! She has snacks.]

[He'll gratefully accept some of the snacks, nodding a quiet thanks.]

Thanks for this. Anyway, this is... [He looks around, brow furrowing.]

As if it could be anywhere else!

[ what other place would dare to be Osaka, really. Hinako appears to be rather proud of this, even if she sobers slightly as she looks around at the... rather obvious property damage that's been going on. ]

Anyway, it's Osaka in the middle of a demon infestation, but you probably know that much.

... Though shouldn't you also know where you are? People don't just show up here without realizing it.

[Look... he only barely recognizes it. But he's choosing to not say that because he thinks she'd get offended.]

Um...

No, I didn't realize there was a demon infestation happening, but... I kind of got the memo now. Would you believe me if I said I kind of just...shoed up here without realizing it? I was in Iwatodai until a few moments ago.

[ Good call. She absolutely would. ]

Wait, what do you mean a few moments ago? Did you seriously teleport here??

[ She'd be in way more disbelief about this, but. Demons. ]

[ She's already working on processing this. ]

Do you remember anything strange happening right before? Any odd feelings? Any demons around you?

[His brow furrows as he frowns.]

... Maybe worry about school later. The death toll's not looking pretty, for starters. So let's get you out of this situation first and then you can worry about makeup work.

[ So he's younger. Apparently diligent, too. ]

It's that bad...? How many demons are we talking about here?

No one really knows. They've just been appearing, in groups all over the place. And we've lost a lot of communication between the cities.

... I'm not sure how you got here, but I'm sorry that whatever brought you here picked a pretty bad time to do it.

Does that really matter? He needs to get home, but right now he's here. This is someone else's home...and it's been overrun by demons. So...how can he really say anything but:]

Are you sure? You don't want to try and evacuate or find family or anything? I know you can fight, obviously, but...

[ It's a lot to ask of someone, isn't it? ]

As it turns out, I'm joining an organization that uses demons to fight other demons and protect civilians. Did you want to tag along?

[Still, it makes him pause too.]

What made you want to fight demons...?

Nothing all that dramatic.

[ with a hand flap that still has a graceful flourish to it. Hinako is still very much a dancer, even when not fully in motion. ]

If I see someone in trouble, I want to help them. That applies to fighting demons-- though I'll say it's definitely much easier now that it's not just me having to punch them!

[ Demons sure are handy! ]

... Though were you using your cell phone to fight the demons...?

Oh, that.

... Ever heard of Nicaea? They say if you have the app, it can show you death clips of your friends. Sort of like giving you a chance to step in before they come true.

Anyway, it led to a demon-summoning app being installed on my phone. With that, you can crack some of the skills they've got by fighting them, or summon them. Some of the demons even put themselves up for auction.
